An American Jewel from a French Village.
Owned By, Tony and Gay Pounds-Cornish, NCCA #9040
In early 2003, Gay and Tony Pounds-Cornish went to the Retromobile Show in Paris France. On one of the stands they noticed a blue 1939 Nash Convertible which they immediately fell in love with because it reminded them of their 1940 Plymouth Convertible long since sold to their cousin in a rash moment!
The owner of the Nash told them that it had been sold not ten minutes earlier. To their great joy he said that he had another 1940 Nash Ambassador Convertible at his Garage, located near Soisson, north of Paris.
About two weeks later Gay and Tony with two carwise friends travelled back to France to said garage where they found not just one or two cars but a whole plethora of Nashs of all years, all in excellent condition. The Nash they had come to see was a beauty and in great condition which was a surprise as the owner had said it needed a little work! After a thorough check and a drive round the block, the deal was done.
